A lonely girl gets the chance to make her dreams come true, but a hurricane is coming...

Look inside the book and read the first chapter

Espy Rojas lives in Whisper, Mississippi, but she has nobody to talk to except her invisible friend Sylas.

When Espy meets Tonka, a mysterious creature in a cicada husk, she is overjoyed to hear that Tonka can help her make Sylas real. After Tonka teaches Espy the secret skill of using the Lines, Espy realizes she can use her newfound power to coax her schoolmates into being her friends, too.

But just when everything should be going so well, Espy begins to wonder if Tonka's power might not be the key to friendship she thought it was.

A story that is as surprising as a river with a hidden undertow, Hush Hush is the second novel from author Remy Wilkins.

What people are saying about Strays:

"What’s not to love about this debut novel from Remy Wilkins? Replete with a brilliant concept, fast‐moving plot twists and turns, memorably quirky characters, and crisp writing. This is a delightful, creative romp. Highly recommended.” ~George Grant, author and pastor in Franklin, Tennessee

"Evoking C.S. Lewis’ The Screwtape Letters, Wilkins’ debut novel portrays cleverly named demonic characters who converse, plot, and war against angels, earthly beings, and even critters who are subject to 'The Name.'" ~Mary Jackson, WORLD Magazine

Each night, the kids asked me to read another chapter which became two chapters, and then three. Hush Hush holds a captivating storyline. You can feel the humidity of the looming hurlecane and the oppressive fear of the Boo Hag. An outstanding read!

The book acknowledges evil in the world without glorifying it.

A darker story than the author's first, "Strays," this book deals with themes of honesty, forgiveness, and friendship. The characters are flawed, and the character arcs address those flaws well. The book acknowledges evil in the world without glorifying it. I was thrilled to received this book as a gift from a friend and I read it in one day's time.

I selected this Title because grandpa (me) got hooked reading the first chapter when reviewing potential Christmas gifts. In retrospect I think it’s a bit beyond my 11 year old granddaughter. For a 74 year old the story line is quite compelling.
